Meet Hernán and Diana.
Hernán was born in Mar del Plata, Argentina, where fire-grilled steaks are what's for dinner. He grew up with a surf board under his arm, and it's the surf that eventually landed him here in Tamarindo, Costa Rica — he's called Tamarindo home since 2019. His favorite things, besides frying up the world's most amazing empanadas, are surfing, reggae music, and building bonfires on the beach.
Diana comes from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and has been living in Costa Rica since the 1990s. Her cooking draws on her Pennsylvania Dutch roots, a love of Italy, and a lifetime in Costa Rica. In her free time, Diana loves surfing, writing stories, and a good glass of Cannonau.
